New Order have completed their short tour of the South West US around the Coachella festival 2013.
Last Sunday was a big night for Bogota with New Order and The Killers on the same stage.
New Order curate Transmission 5 live from Jodrell Bank, Cheshire on Sunday 7th July. New Order will headline the show in the grounds of the iconic, and world famous Lovell radio telescope with special guests Johnny Marr, The Whip, Jake Evans and Hot Vestry.
Stephen Morris said today “Playing at Jodrell Bank is going to be really exciting. I grew up not far from there, and I remember riding my bike over to it all the time when I was a little lad.
I saw Flaming Lips play there and they was brilliant. Really special. We’re going to try to do something special too, but we’re not telling you what! I do plan to take my life-size Dalek and Cyberman up there for the weekend at the very least.
Unfortunately it’s likely that Gillian will have to spend the whole show blindfolded because she’s got a phobia of radio telescopes, so naturally she’s terrified of Jodrell Bank. We used to drive past it, and every time she’d need to duck under the dashboard when we got close. “
In addition to the musical entertainment explore the universe with a range of hands-on experiments, workshops and full access to the magnificent Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre.
Tickets go on sale Friday 8th March 2013 https://livefromjodrellbank.ticketline.co.uk/order/tickets/13280553
